Playing the head of a crime syndicae

Chris Rock has joined the cast of Fargo.

The comic will play the head of a black crime syndicate in 1950 Kansas City, living under an uneasy peace with a rival Italian gang.

According to trade magazine Variety, each family have traded their eldest sons to the enemy to secure the peace, but when the Italian chief dies, everything changes.

Production on season four is due to begin next year for a return to America’s FX channel later in 2019.

Rock said: ‘’I’m a fan of Fargo and I can’t wait to work with Noah [Hawley, the creator].’

Series three of Fargo, starring  Ewan McGregor as brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy, and set in 2010 aired on Channel 4 in the YK.
