Graham Linehan gets cancer all-clear

No chemo after all for Father Ted co-creator

Father Ted co-creator Graham Linehan has revealed that he is clear of cancer – 24 hours after revealing his diagnosis.

Yesterday he tweeted that he had had one of his testicles removed and said he was set to embark on a course of chemotherapy to ensure the cancer did not return.

But today he told his 700,000 followers: ‘Well, holy shit. I just saw my oncologist. Everything’s clear. No chemo! Can’t believe it! NO CHEMO! Have been organising my life around the idea that the next three months were just *gone*!

He is currently working on Pope Ted,theamusical stage version of Father Ted, with the sitcom’s co-creator Arthur Mathews and Neil Hannon, who wrote its theme tune.

A second series of Motherland, which he co-writes with his wife Helen, Sharon Horgan and Holly Walsh, has also commissioned by the BBC.
