Elis James and John Robins go Vible bashing

Book tour for Radio X duo

Elis James and John Robins are to go on tour together this autumn to promote their first book.

The Holy Vible is based on some of the running jokes from their cult Radio X show and associated podcast, and is due to be published on October 18.

Now they have announced 24 dates at which they will read extracts from the title, kicking off at the Salford Lowry on October 21.

The pair first met in 2005, performing stand-up comedy in The Yellow Kangaroo pub in Cardiff, but it wasn’t until 2016 that they first toured together.

The Holy Vible is described as a 'self-help' book tackling topics such as shame and Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci. And the tour promises the the pair will 'explore human obsessions, and discover how they make us what we are'.

The blurb adds: Though you may never have addressed a will to Brian May or cried watching Ronnie O’Sullivan make a 147, you’ll have done something similar, and this hilarious pair will be on hand to tell you that you’re not weird, we’re all the same.'

Tickets for the tour have just gone on sale here... and you can preorder the book here.
