Alan Carr pilots new ITV entertainment show

...and of course it involves the public singing

Alan Carr is piloting a new primetime ‘shiny-floor’ entertainment show for ITV.

And it’s yet another format that involves members of the public singing.

Singalong - The Show is described as ‘the ultimate karaoke night’ and is being developed by ITV Studios.

The producers also make Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, which also features a segment called Singalong. In that, audience members at home join in with a live performance in the studio, filling in missing words to win money.

Here’s an example from earlier this month:

The future of Takeaway is currently under question after Ant McPartlin was arrested for alleged drink-driving.

Singalong will be filmed at ITV's London Studios on the South Bank next Thursday and free audience tickets are available now. Producers say it ‘feature all sorts of fun karaoke games and music challenges’.

Carr previously hosted The Singer Takes It All for Channel 4 in 2014, in which contestants performed on a stage that moved towards success or failure based audience votes.

And Singalong follows other singing show including X Factor, The Voice,Pop Idol, All Together Now, Stars In Their Eyes, Don't Stop Believing, How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria?, Over The Rainbow, Popstars and Superstar.
