Only Fools named Britain's favourite sitcom

New poll has Fawlty Towers second and Blackadder third

Only Fools And Horses has been voted Britain’s favourite sitcom.

The sitcom topped the poll, conducted to mark World Television Day, with more than a third of the vote.

It beat Fawlty Towers into second place with Blackadder taking third.

The newest of the shows in the to 20 is Mrs Brown’s Boys, at No 9, which began on TV in 2011.

The poll was conducted by Samsung, whose spokesman Steve Mitchell said: ‘It’s great to see old classics, such as Only Fools & Horses, still entertaining the nation years after they were made.’
