Britcoms struggle in TV Choice Awards

...And Mrs Brown up for best entertainment

It’s a ceremony that celebrates the best in British broadcasting – but half of the nominees for best comedy in the TV Choice awards are US imports.

E4’s decade-old Big Bang Theory and Sky1’s Modern Family are up against ITV’s Benidorm and Peter Kay’s Car Share on BBC One.

Shortlists and eventual winners are decided by the viewing public.

They also voted All Round To Mrs Brown’s as one of the best entertainment shows of the year, alongside Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Keith Lemon’s Celebrity Juice and The Graham Norton Show.

Winners will be named at The Dorchester hotel in London on September 4, at a ceremony hosted by Pointless star Richard Osman. Viewers have until July 7 to cast their votes at tvchoicemagazine.co.uk.
