And moving to More 4
8 Out Of 10 Cats is to return with new team captains Aisling Bea and Rob Beckett.
Channel 4 has commissioned a new series of 12 episodes, which will move to digital channel More 4.
The broadcaster has also announced 18 new hour-long editions of 8 Out of 10 Cats Do Countdown, which will continue to feature Sean Lock and Jon Richardson as captains and remain on the main channel. Lock has been on the original show since its 2005 launch, and Richardson joined in 2011 following Dave Spikey and Jason Manford
There have already been 70 episodes of the Countdown spin-off, which had a consolidated average audience of 1.9 million viewers during its last series.
Guests on the new shows will include David Walliams, Catherine Tate, Noel Fielding, Roisin Conaty, Lee Mack, Victoria Coren-Mitchell, Joe Wilkinson, Claudia Winkleman, Bob Mortimer, Noel Fielding, Isy Suttie, Russell Howard, Richard Ayoade, Jessica Hynes and David Mitchell.
The new series of Cats itself will be the show’s 19th, and will first air on More 4.
Channel 4 commissioning editor Sarah Lazenby said: ‘We’re thrilled to be bringing back one of the sharpest topical panel shows on TV. This is a huge endorsement for the brand and a great opportunity to develop new talent.
‘We’re delighted that the incredibly talented Aisling Bea and Rob Beckett will join as team captains in its newest incarnation on More 4 while the dons Jimmy, Sean and Jon continue to make 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown appointment to view on 4."
Ruth Phillips, managing director of programme-makers Zeppotron, also vowed: ‘A crucial part of the show’s brief will be to launch and support new comedians."
