Happy Hour to air pre-watershed

Alan Carr is working on a new show for Channel 4.

The comedian’s new Happy Hour show will again feature celebrity guests but is set to air in an earlier slot.

It has been reported that the show will be set in a traditional British social club – an update perhaps of the old Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club of the 1970s, hosted by Bernard Manning.

Happy Hour is expected to replace Chatty Man in the long term, which has struggled in the ratings following its move from Fridays to Thursdays

The Sun reports that the pre-watershed show will feature ‘shenanigans with celebrities like crazy games’ as well as live music.

And Business Insider reports that the show is likely to run for four episodes in the build up to Christmas, and was provisionally titled Alan Carr's Social Club before getting its new name,
