JEREMY CORBYN is to be the first guest on the new series of The Last Leg, producers have announced. The show returns to Channel 4 for an eighth series of six episodes on June 10 with by Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker.

MEANWHILE Hills and Widdicombe among the stand-ups announced for the comedy tent at the V Festivals. The comedy tent also features Katherine Ryan, Tom Stade, Sara Pascoe and Jarred Christmas, among many others. The festivals take place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire, on the weekend of August 20 and 21. <(Tickets).

E4 HAS axed its comedy-drama The Aliens, starring Chewing Gum creator Michaela Coel, after just one series. It attracted an average of 530,000 viewers per episode and lukewarm reviews.

EAST LONDON is to get what's being billed as its first open air comedy festival. Backyard Comedy Club and Comedy Café Theatre will be programming the event in Shoreditch Park on July 24.

CHRIS RAMSEY, Ed Gamble and Carl Donnelly are among the acts to have signed up for a series of six free gigs sponsored by insurance firm Swiftcover taking place in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and London this summer. Details.
