Rebel Wilson to make West End debut

Australian comic turned Hollywood star Rebel Wilson is to make her West End debut in Guys and Dolls.

She will play as Miss Adelaide  in the show at the Phoenix Theatre from next month next month.

The actress tweeted the news to her 2.4 million followers, saying: ‘Proud to announce that I will be joining the West End cast of GUYS & DOLLS for 8 weeks only at the Phoenix Theatre, playing Miss Adelaide!’

She will take over from Samantha Spiro  in the show from June 28 until August 21. Miss Adelaide’s songs in the musical include  A Bushel And A Peck and Marry the Man Today.

The rest of the cast includes Four Lions star Nigel Lindsay as Nathan Detroit and Oliver Tompsett as Sky Masterson.

Pitch Perfect star Wilson has also just signed up for an untitled Hollywood movie about bout a cynical young woman who doesn’t believe in love and then wakes up one day to discover that her life has become a romantic comedy, trade magazine Variety reported yesterday.
