Clocked at 54mph in a 30mph zone

Steve Coogan has been banned from driving after being caught speeding.

Sussex Police say he was clocked doing 54mph in a 30mph zone in his £25,000  Mazda MX-5 SE sports car on the A259  in his home town of Brighton last October.

The comedian, 50,  did not attend the hearing at Worthing Magistrates’ Court, when he was disqualified from driving for 28 days.

He was also handed a £670 fine and ordered to pay £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £67, <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-35667449">the BBC</a> reports.
