Comedy show for 50 Cent?

Fox orders a script

50 Cent is set to star in his own sitcom.

America’s Fox network has ordered a script of My Friend 50, about an ‘an unstable twenty-something who believes that joining 50 Cent’s entourage is the answer to all her problems’.

The hip-hop star will be an executive producer and make recurring appearances as ‘a version of himself’ if the show is picked up for a series.

Hollywood website Deadline reports that the format will be a ‘bizarre documentary’ of life on the road with 50 Cent’s crew.

It was written by Ava Tramer, whose credits include the US version of The Office, Parks and Rec and Stephen Merchant’s Hello Ladies.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, has been involved in comedy before. In 2011 he launched the short-lived web series This is 50 Comedy Show and last year he tweeted that he had sold a show to Comedy Central, although nothing saw the light of day.
