Muslim comics return to UK for charity gigs

Muslim comedy outfit Allah Made Me Funny are to tour the UK again – to raise money for refugees.

The core trio of Preacher Moss, Azhar Usman, Mo Amer will be joined by Youtube comedian Guzzy Bear for the three-week tour.

They will be playing theatres and community centres that don't usually host comedy gigs – and being a Muslim-based show will even perform a rare Christmas Day gig.

A spokesman for the The Chuckle For Charity Tour said: 'Winter is a dreadful time of year, bringing untold misery to those already suffering in Syria and Gaza. With the refugee crisis intensifying we hope to raise money via the comedy tour to make some difference for those people who really our need help!'

Preacher Moss the founder of Allah Made Me Funny added: 'This tour enjoys a unique relationship with Muslim and non-Muslim communities around the world.

'I have sought, for the last 11 years, to convey a sense of pride, compassion, and gratitude to our audiences and let them know whatever goes wrong or right in the world, we're going to be all right.'

Moses founded the US-based trio in 2004. They previously toured Britain in 2007, 2009 and 2011 and released a low-budget Live In Concert film in 2008.

Their guest, Guzzy Bear, also known as Guz Khan, has just joined BBC Asia Network's presenter line-up on Saturday mornings. The Coventry based stand-up recently gave up his job as a teacher to pursue a comedy career.
