Showstopper! The Improvised Musical will continue to play in London's West End after its original two-month run at the Apollo Theatre ended last night with an ad-libbed show called The Battle Of Bakerloo. The musical will move next door to the Lyric Theatre for ten Monday-night performances between February 15 and July 25 next year. Review

THE finalists have been announced for the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year Final, which takes place at the Dogstar in Brixton, South London, next Sunday. They are: Cheekykita, Emmanuel Sonubi, John Pendal, Nigel Ng, Saskia Preston, Peter Flanagan, Donal Vaughan, Dimitri Bankanov, Njambi McGrath, Dylan Gott, Glorious Monster, Lucy Roper, Flora Anderson and James Shakeshaft.

SUSAN CALMAN's show Lady Like has been released on DVD by independent production house Go Faster Stripe. The show was recorded in front of a home crowd at Glasgow's Citizens Theatre and is available for £12 for a physical version, £5 download or £3 audio only. Here's a clip:

MATT OKINE's Live At The Enmore Theatre album has won the comedy category at the Arias, Australia's recording industry shindig, last night. He used his victory speech to highlight the fact no women had been nominated in the category.

INDEPENDENT production house Talkback has appointed its first head of comedy, Detectorists executive producer Jonno Richards. He joins the company from John Bishop's company Lola Entertainment, and has also worked on the comedians' BBC One shows.
