Grado and chief Miekelson play Glasgow fest

Two characters from BBC Scotland sitcom Scot Squad are to make their live comedy debuts at next year's Glasgow comedy festival.

Wrestler Grado, who plays PC Hugh McKirdie, promises a night of 'tell-it-all tales and trash talking' in his debut at the King's Theatre, entitled It's Masel.

The grappler, real name, Graeme Stevely, is signed to TNA and is the Insane Championship Wrestling world heavyweight champion. As well as appearing Scot Squad he played Buster in the soap River City.

Also at the festival next March, Jack Docherty will be performing a show in the guise of his character, Chief Commissioner Cameron Miekelson.

The show, Tomorrow's Force Today, is billed as 'a keynote speech on the past, present and future of policing featuring insight, go-forward strategy and out-of-the-blue-box thinking, from his days as a rookie cop to unifying the police force of an entire nation'.

Docherty said: 'This is my first live performance in 23 years and I'm delighted that it will be at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. I'm also very excited to be doing my first ever solo show and not in any way nervous, worried or petrified. However hecklers please note — you will be arrested.'

The show is at the King's Theatre on March 22 (Tickets), while Grado's live show is at the same venue on March 17 (Tickets)
