Oh, the romance...

Of all the romantic places to propose, one man chose… a Dapper Laughs gig.

Lorry driver Ryan Armstrong took to the stage during Dapper's Res-Erection tour in Newcastle's Riverside venue on Monday night to make the grand gesture.

His girlfriend Danielle Frayling said yes, to the delight of the crowd – and Dapper.

Ryan, 25, told the Nottingham Post: 'We both love Dapper Laughs, so on the spur of the moment I decided to get in touch to see if I could propose at the show. I sent him a direct message on Twitter and I ended up speaking to him on the phone beforehand.

'I was absolutely terrified when the time came, but Dapper was really good and helped me out. Luckily she said yes!'

Ryan has been going out with teaching assistant Danielle Frayling, 25, for 18 months. She said: 'It was a huge surprise. But it was Ryan all over. I like the fact he did it in a way that was a little bit different.

'It was nice that Ryan did it there – a lot of people might not have thought that, but I appreciated it.'
