Filming stars on Detectorists series 2

Mackenzie Crook comedy returns later this year

Filming has just started on the second series of Detectorists.

Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones will be shooting the six-part series – and one-off Christmas special –  across Suffolk, Essex and London over the coming six weeks.

It will air on BBC Four later in the year, and charts what happened to Jones's character Lance following the departure of his now ex-wife, as well as Andy coming to terms with being a parent.

Crook, who wrote, directs and stars in the show, says: 'To be back in Suffolk filming in the glorious English countryside for a second summer is more than I could have hoped for. I’m thrilled that people warmed to the first series.'

The first series won two Bafta awards for comedy writing and best scripted comedy.
