Comic to take over as host of reality show

Katherine Ryan is to take over as host of the BBC’s hairdressing talent hunt Hair.

The show is one of those making the exodus from BBC Three to BBC Two before the former goes online only.

Each week ten amateur stylists face challenges to prove they're worthy of the crown to judges Denise McAdam and Alain Pichon.

The first series was hosted by X Factor USA presenter Steve Jones, and attracted just under a million viewers. It has not yet been confirmed when the second series will launch.

Ryan’s appointment was announced by BBC Two controller Kim Shillinglaw at a schedule launch tonight.
