Clement lands role in Sharon Horgan's US comedy

Flight Of The Conchords star Jemaine Clement is to appear in a new HBO show being written by Catastrophe’s Sharon Horgan.

He has joined the pilot of Divorce, which will star Sex And The City’s Sarah Jessica Parker as a woman, Frances, who is undergoing a drawn-out divorce.

Clement will play Julian, a literature professor and friend of Frances. Hollywood website Deadline reports that it would be a recurring role. Thomas Haden Church and Molly Shannon have previously been announced as being in the show, too.

Last year we reported how HBO had ordered a new four-part comedy series from Clement and sometime Conchords director Taika Waititi – although details have been kept under wraps.

Clement also starred in two movies that premiered at Sundance – Don Verdean and People, Places, Things – and last year starred in the vampire flatshare comedy movie, What We Do In The Shadows.
