But Scottish Comedian Of The Year switches venue

The venue for this year’s Scottish Comedian Of The Year final has been switched at the last minute.

Twelve finalists had been due to battle it out at Glasgow's 1,500-seater O2 Academy on Sunday night – but now it has been changed to the O2 ABC, which has just under half the capacity.

The finalists chosen from more than 90 entrants are: Allan Lindsay, Bruce Fummey, Christopher Macarthur-Boyd, Duncan Guthrie, Graham Mackie, Harry Garrison, Jim Smith, Robin Grainger, Rosco Mcclelland, Ross Leslie, Stephen Buchanan and Liam Withnail

The prize includes a cheque for £1,500 and a run at the Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringes.

Previous finalists have included Mark Nelson, who recently presented Don’t Drop The Baton for BBC Scotland; Iain Stirling who became a regular presenter on CBBC; and circuit acts Scott Agnew and Larry Dean, pictured who won last year’s title.

Organiser Alan Anderson said: ‘There’s a real mixture of people who’ve made it to the final on Sunday. There are comics who’ve been on the circuit for decades and comics who are still in the first six months of their career.

‘I have no idea who will win. It’s going to be a cracking contest. The comedy circuit in Scotland is in very good shape indeed.’
