The stand-up will be one of the attractions at A Soiree In A Cemetery, an interactive variety night taking place in a secret London location on October 4. WELSH actor Howell Evans, who was played Daddy in Stella with Ruth Jones, has died at the age of 86. The Maesteg-born performer also appeared in shows including Casualty, Open All Hours and The Story of Tracy Beaker.

Jason Cook has announced a 19-date autumn tour. The creator of BBC Two sitcom Hebburn will be on the road from Durham on October 3 to Edinburgh on November 11 with his Edinburgh Fringe show Broken. Schedule

SHARON HORGAN has launched her own independent production company. The Pulling and Dead Boss co-creator has teamed up with Young Doctor’s Notebook producer Clelia Mountford to form Merman Films, which already has scripts in development with the BBC, Channel 4, Sky, CBS and HBO.

ITV2 has confirmed that Plebs will return at 10pm on September 22 and The Job Lot at 10pm on September 24.
