Rob Beckett joins Absolute Radio

Comedy, music and football show

Rob Beckett has signed up with Absolute Radio for his presenting debut.

The comic will host a new Sunday afternoon show as part of the station's Rock N Roll Football strand, mixing music, comedy and goal updates, staring on August 3.

Beckett said: 'I’m so happy to be joining Absolute Radio. I have always been a big fan of the station and Rock n Roll Football, so to have my own show on there is amazing. I just can’t wait for the season to start.

'The only thing that could make me happier is if they started using free kick foam in the Premier League and I was in charge of spraying it.'

Beckett – whose show will go out from 2pm to 6pm –  previously appeared Absolute Radio on the panel show, The Manuscript, last year. His TV appearances include Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week and hosting ITV2's I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now.

Other comics already on the station include Frank Skinner, Alun Cochrane and Ian Stone.
