Kitson announces Fringe shows

Better late than never...

Daniel Kitson has announced a series of Fringe shows.

In an message to his email list, the comic said: 'This is not being announced late in the day as some sort of crafty anti marketing gambit but rather as a result of my having been busy with other things / ongoing incompetence / staggering (heroic) lack of regard for programming convention.'

Kitson will be on at midnight at The Stand from August 3 to 24 – not Fridays or Saturdays – with two shows.

Until the 12th, he will be reuniting with musician Gavin Osborn, his frequent collaborator, for a show called A Variety of Things In A Room.

Kitson describes the show as a 'satisfying hodge podge of songs from Gav and short, hermetically sealed bits of writing from me, short stories, lists, a letter or two, maybe with a little bit of film and some of my insane electronica.'

For the second half of the festival, he will unite with Alun Cochrane and Andy Zaltzman for Fuckstorm 3001 'three men showing off and shouting over each other for around 90 minutes'.

Tickets are £9, with 100 for each show sold in advance and 40 sold to fans who visit The Stand box office in person at noon on the day of the show.

Advance tickets go on sale at noon on Wednesday here.
