BILLY CONNOLLY and Mrs Brown's Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll have signed up for the new series of Who Do You Think You Are? which airs this summer. The other subjects of the family tree show will be Julie Walters, Mary Berry, Sheridan Smith, Tamzin Outhwaite, Reggie Yates, Martin Shaw and Twiggy.

WATCHING sitcoms may make you more cynical about love, according to a new study from the University of Michigan. The survey of 625 undergraduates found those who watched shows such as How I Met Your Mother or The Big Bang Theory were likely to have less idealised notions of love than those who watched romantic movies. The theory is that sitcoms concentrate more on the daily nitty-gritty of relationships, including rows, as opposed to the ‘happily ever after’ story arcs of movies.
