Alpha Papa trailer released

First glimpse of new Alan Partridge film

The first trailer for the Alan Partridge movie Alpha Papa has been released online.

The two-and-a-half-minute clip reveals more details of the plot, which involves Steve Coogan’s radio presenter being drafted in as a negotiator during a siege at North Norfolk Digital.

Colm Meaney co-stars as a fellow DJ Pat Farrell, who barricades himself into the studio with a shotgun after he is fired by the station’s new corporate owners – and Partridge is the only man he will speak to.

During the siege, the pair continue to broadcast, and Partridge becomes the face of the incident – or ‘Siegeface’ as he puts it.

One scene shows Partridge hiding beneath the bowl of a toilet as Meaney’s character aims his ‘shooter’ at him, while the trailer also gives glimpses of the final showdown on Norfolk’s Cromer Pier.

The film, which also features Sean Pertwee, Tim Key, Felicity Montagu and Anna Maxwell Martin, will be in cinemas on August 7. Its slogan is: ‘He used to chat for a living... now he’s chatting for his life.’

Here is the trailer (and apologies if it shows an ad beforehand, we can't do anything about that):
