New panel show intends to find out

Ed Byrne is to host a planned new panel game pitching UK comics against their international counterparts.

A run-through of Britain vs The Rest of the World will feature Hal Cruttenden captaining the home team with German comedian Henning Wehn leading the challengers.

Rounds will encompass popular culture, languages, history, sports, customs and food in a bid to determine which side is superior.

The format is being tested for Radio 4 in front of a live audience in RADA Studios in central London tomorrow night.

Britishness is already the subject of one TV panel game, I Love My Country, which has been earmarked for a Saturday-night slot on BBC One. It is set to feature Frank Skinner, Micky Flanagan and host Gabby Logan.
