Don't let him touch your bums...

WTF: Weekly Trivia File

  • A teenager has had Russell Brand’s autograph tattooed on her bum, after the comic signed her cheek after a gig. Leonie Rickards, 18, got Brand to sign her boobs after a gig in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, and after congratulating her on her chest, agreed to sign her arse: ‘Russell X 04-09-12’. Leonie then had the tattoo drawn over it.

  • Alan Sharp will next week become the second stand-up to appear on a regular Mastermind episode. Filmed in July Sharp chose Everest as his specialist subject as he’s climbed extensively in the Himalayas. Sharp, who started comedy in 2008, is not allowed to reveal how well he’s done before the show airs next Friday, but said: ‘I had always wanted to appear on the show, and now in my late forties seemed like the optimal time, with a lifetime of knowledge built up behind me, and before I start to go senile and forget it all.’ The only other comic to have taken part outside the celebrity specials is keen quizzer - and now regular know-it-all on ITV’s The Chase - Paul Sinha.

  • Before the Americans ruined remade The Inbetweeners, Simon Bird made a ‘super awkward’ phone call to the new cast to share some tips. The main one was: ‘Don’t let creator Iain Morris touch your bums.'

  • Best audience volunteer ever? This clip, filmed at the Comedy Barn in Tennessee, has had 23million views... but new to us:

  • A van that featured in Dad’s Army has been put up for auction, where it’s expected to raise £30,000. The 1935 Ford Box was Corporal Jones’s butcher’s van in the sitcom – where it was commandeered by the Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard and converted into an armed vehicle – with holes cut in the side so the platoon could poke their rifles through it. It has been part of the private Patrick Motor Museum in Birmingham since 1990 – and will be going under the hammer at Bonhams on December 3.

  • Rob Brydon has an iPhone 5 already.

  • Vic Reeves is to transform York into a ‘magical wonderland' with his artwork. The comic, who studied art, was given ‘free rein’ to design three huge light projections to illuminate the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey, the Yorkshire Museum and part of the city walls for the Illuminating York festival, which runs from October 31 to November 3. Born in nearby Leeds, Reeves is said to have taken his inspiration from absurdist works such as Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. A spokeswoman for the event, which attracted 60,000 visitors in 2011, said that the comic and his project team would be ’creating a new world that turns the expected upside down and revels in the beauty of the unexpected.’ Councillor Sonja Crisp said: ‘The scale and ambition of this year’s festival will be truly spectacular.'
