Another remake in the works

Sky 1 family comedy Spy could be the latest British show to get an American remake.

Hot on the news that Jo Brand’s hospital sitcom Getting On is getting a US makeover comes reports that the ABC network want their own version of the show about an man who accidentally becomes an MI5 agent.

Creator Simeon Goulden is in negotiations to produce a new script, according to Hollywood industry website Deadline, while original production company Hat Trick would make the show with ABC Studios.

Mewanwhile, filming has recently begun on a second series and Christmas special of the UK version, starring Darren Boyd.

ABC is also remaking BBC Three’s White Van Man and Only Fools and Horses.
