ALF to be remade as a movie

Reboot for 80s sitcom alien

ALF – the Eighties sitcom  about an alien living with a suburban family – is set to be made into a movie.

Sony has signed a deal for the rights to the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and will remake it with computer effects rather than the puppetry of the original.

Show creators Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco will produce the film with Jordan Kerner, who worked on The Smurfs' recent big-screen reboot.

Fusco is expected to voice ALF - the sarcastic 'alien life form' with a taste for eating cats – as he did in the original series, which ran for 102 episode from 1986 to 1990.
