Talk show for Jewish mothers...

Bossy Jewish matriarchs Ronna & Beverly are to pilot their own talk show for Sky.

The cult fiftysomething characters are the creations of American comedians Jessica Chaffin and Jamie Denbo, and have previously played the Edinburgh Fringe and the Soho Theatre, where they have attracted A-list guests.

Now they are to film a pilot with Hat Trick Productions, the company behind Have I Got News For You, which promises: ‘They interview guests! Give pushy advice! Hawk their self-help book!’

Described as a cross between Dr Ruth and Mrs Merton, the pair have previously interviewed the likes of Matthew Perry, Russell Brand, Chris O’Dowd, Simon Amstell and Matt Lucas.

The Los Angeles-based pair, who also have a successful podcast, are known for making their guests squirm with blunt questions and controlling advice.

The pilot is being recorded in the London studios on February 13. See our free tickets page to be in the audience.
