Frank Skinner's brought to book

Newspaper columns to be published

Frank Skinner’s newspaper columns are to be compiled into a new book, to be released this autumn.

Publishers Century has bought the rights to a selection of articles the comic has written for The Times in the past two years. The collection, Dispatches From The Sofa: The Collected Wisdom of Frank Skinner will also contain some new material.

Century’s editorial director Jack Fogg told trade magazine The Bookseller: ‘Frank is one of only a handful of comedians who are as funny on the page as they are on stage.

‘He has an expansive and easy-going intelligence and is as comfortable discussing West Brom's away form as debating the finer politics of the general election. Dispatches from the Sofa is a treat from start to finish.’

The hardback will be published on September 15, with a paperback release next year.

Skinner has already written two successful memoirs, On The Road and a self-titled autobiography.
