Russell Brand on Death Row

...for new documentary

Russell Brand has spent time in a Death Row cell for a new documentary.

The comic was even strapped to a table in Angola Jail, Louisiana where lethal injections are administed.

He told The Sun: ‘I went to the execution room where they give the lethal injection and got strapped on the table.

‘I should have been thinking, “This is bad, they've killed people on this.” But I actually thought this is a great shot, I look Christ-like.

But he said he won no friends after bragging about his celebrity lifestyle to murderer Henry Smith, while filming the programme, called Happiness.

He said: ‘It was terrifying. The average sentence in there was 80 years for murder. This guy is dangerous, suicidal and once escaped.

‘I was in his cell and I start winding him up that I'm in movies and rich. It was a stupid thing to do. I got out of there as quick as I could. Here's a social tip – don't boast.’
