Sky to air Wood's comedy comeback

TV deal for heart benefit

Victoria Wood’s return to stand-up after a decade is to be shown on Sky 1.

The broadcaster has signed a deal to air a version of this weekend’s Angina Monologues benefit gig on December 21.

The show, which takes place at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket on Sunday will also be beamed live to Vue cinemas across the UK. Its line-up also includes Jessica Hynes, Julia Davis, Jo Brand, Isy Stuttie and Andi Osho.

Producers Phil McIntyre Television will edit the British Heart Foundation benefit into a 60-minute version for Sky, which is embarking on a major push into original comedy programming.
