Dynamite news!

Cult movie to become animated comedy

The 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite is to be made into an animated comedy in the States.

The original cast, including star Jon Heder, will reunite for the series about an awkward teenager in rural Idaho.

Fox, which already broadcasts The Simpsons and Family Guy, has ordered six episodes of the show, according to industry website Deadline.

It is one of two new cartoons the show is planning for next season. The other is Allen Gregory, about a famous seven-year-old who has to go to school with ‘regular kids’.

Actor Jonah Hill – Russell Brand’s co-star in Get Him to the Greek – co-wrote the script for the seven episodes with Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul, who worked on the film adaptation of Danny Wallace’s book Yes Man.
