Tim Minchin's first arena tour

...and he's got a 55-piece orchestra

Tim Minchin is to tour the UK this December – with a full 55-piece orchestra.

The nine-date tour, including two in Scotland in April 2011, is the first time the Australia musical comic has played arena-sized venues, including London’s massive O2 Arena.

The tour, which kicks off at the Birmingham NIA on December 8, promises ‘brand new songs as well as those much-loved Minchin classics’ – with the added power of the orchestra.

Minchin is currently writing the music and lyrics for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s new musical version of Roald Dahl’s Matilda.
