International TV award for Bailey's orchestra show

Bill Bailey has won a prestigious international TV award for his Remarkable Guide To The Orchestra.

The comic’s full-scale production, recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, won the award for best music and variety programme at the Banff World Television festival in Canada.

Among the other winners was Curb Your Enthusiasm, which was named best comedy.

And the festival will honour Ricky Gervais tomorrow, when he is awarded the Sir Peter Ustinov comedy award, whose previous recipients include John Cleese, Bob Newhart and Kelsey Grammer.
