Kay wants Wogan as a villain

Peter Kay is planning to bring back Max and Paddy for two special episodes – and he wants Terry Wogan to guest star as a villain.

The comic wrote the shows in 2004, the year he made the Phoenix Nights spin-off with Paddy McGuinness.

But now he’s ready to dust down the episodes, according to The Sun.

Kay said: ‘Terry plays a baddie. We go to Ireland for a funeral. But we have been on a stag do and the only clothes we have are fancy dress.’

Earlier this month McGuinness, who has just finished hosting the ITV dating show Take Me Out, spoke of his hopes of reviving the two characters, who started life as doormen of the Phoenix Club.

He said: ‘We wrote some stuff for Max and Paddy for Christmas specials. We always talk about it, me and Pete, we love those characters and would love to do it again.’
