Rock on the slopes

Chris to remake French ski comedy

Chris Rock is to remake a French comedy about a black family who take to the ski slopes.

He has optioned the English-language remake rights to La Premiere Etoile, which was one of the ten highest-grossing films in France last year.

Its comedy revolved around the family’s struggles on the slopes, as well as the reaction of the resort’s stuffy, white, residents to the newcomers.

Rock – whose next film is another remake, Death At A Funeral – will rewrite the screenplay as well as produce the new version, Variety reports.

No news yet on casting, or whether Rock will appear on screen.
