Brooker gets second C4 series

You Have Been Watching returns

Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of Charlie Brooker’s You Have Been Watching – two days after the show won a British Comedy Award.

Brooker won best male comedy newcomer on Saturday for his role hosting the show, over the two boys from BBC One’s Outnumbered.

Channel 4 commissioning editor Darren Smith said: ‘Charlie's uniquely comic voice is a perfect fit on Channel 4. I'm looking forward to him becoming a big part of our comedy entertainment output in 2010.’

Annabel Jones, managing director of producers Zeppotron, added: ‘I am delighted that Channel 4 still want to commit to a second series following Charlie's triumph over two small children at the British Comedy Awards.

‘Now he's beaten them he goes on to meet a stuffed owl and a baby swan in the European finals.’

The second series will air next year.
