Brodkin lands BBC Three pilot

New show for character comic

Character comedian Simon Brodkin has landed his own BBC Three pilot.

The circuit regular, whose most successful creation is the chavvish Lee ‘Nelsy’ Nelson had a prominent supporting role in Al Murray’s Multiple Personality Disorder on ITV1 earlier this year.

And next month he is to record a test episode of his own – as yet untitled - sketch show for BBC Three, also featuring preening premiership footballer Jason Bent, bungling Bangalorean medic Dr Omprakash and trustafarian.

His pilot is being recorded at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, West London, on August 7. Visit our free tickets page for details of how to be in the studio audience.

The following day he is due to start the Edinburgh Fringe run of his new show, Still Not Himself
