Science-based panel show for BBC Four

Andy Hamilton is to host a new science-based panel show for BBC Four.

It's Only A Theory will invite scientific experts to pitch ‘unfathomable’ theories to a panel of comedians and celebrities, who will subject them to comic scrutiny.

According to trade magazine Broadcast, topics earmarked for discussion include whether dogs have their own moral code and if the welfare of bees is more important than global warming.

Perrier-nomined stand-up Reginald D Hunter will be a regular on the show, which Outnumbered creator Hamilton also devised. who will then wittily interrogate their subject. Other guests lined up include Vince Cable and Clare Balding.

The first half-hour show was recorded in front of a live audience at Teddington Studios last night, and production continues throughout this month.

The series, made by Have I Got News for You producers Hat Trick, will go out later this year.
