Stand-up bids for most jokes in an hour
Comedian Kev F Sutherland is to attempt to break the world record for the most jokes told in one hour.The current title-holder is Austalian comic Anthony Lehmann – better known as Lehmo – who cracked 549 gags in 60 minutes four years ago.
Sutherland, the creator of the Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre and a Beano cartoonist, is staging his attempt in Bristol on Wednesday next week in aid of Comic Relief.
Official adjudicators will be in the audience to check that every joke receives a laugh. Any that don't will not be counted.
The attempt will take place in an invited audience at Barton Hill Settlement, which has received a £117,000 handout from Comic Relief.
Lehmo beat previous record-holder Tim Vine by exactly 50 gags.
