Three for Three

BBC orders trio of comedy pilots

BBC Three has commissioned three comedy pilots, which could be made into series.

The first, Life Spam, is a sketch-show vehicle for Alice Lowe, the co-star of Channel 4’s Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace.

Lowe will also be writing the show, which is being made by Rob Brydon's production company Jones the Film.

The second, Barely Legal, is a sketch show for teenage performers and writers. The stars will be aged 17 and above – but the writers are as young as 14.

Scottish comedian Greg McHugh stars in the third pilot, Nancy & The Punks, which is a sitcom about fans of a series of teen novels who meet up after chatting about their passion online.

All three half-hour pilots will air later this year.
