Rock hails 'incredible' UK crowds

'One of the best experiences of my career'

Chris Rock says that playing the UK was ‘one of the best experiences of my career’.

On his return to the States, the comic praised the ‘incredible’ audiences who came to see his show – especially the stars.

Writing on his MySpace blog, Rock said: ‘I just played my first concerts in London and throughout the UK and I have to say it was one of the best experiences of my career. The crowds were incredible. The people were smart and came to have a good time.

‘I loved the cities as I spent my days going to museums and did my shows at night. I met a lot of cool people and some of my favourites came down to the Hammersmith Apollo to check out the shows.

‘I want to thank Madonna, Richard Curtis, Lenny Henry, Guy Ritchie, David Schwimmer, Simon Peg [sic], Russell Brand, Dizzy [sic] Rascal and the great Ricky Gervais for coming out. When artists you respect are in the house you always try to take it up a notch.

‘Well I'm gonna rest for about a week and then its time to hit the States. I can’t wait to see everybody out there and I'm excited to go back to London in May.’

Rock is playing the O2 Arena on May 23 and May 24.
