Gervais scores two nominations for Extras

Ricky Gervais has been nominated for another two Golden Globes.

p>Extras is up for best comedy show on American TV, while he’s in line for best comedy actor.

In 2004, he became the first British actor to win a Golden Globe for comedy for his role in The Office, which also won best comedy show. It’s a double he will be hoping to repeat when this year’s winners are announced in Beverly Hills on January 13.

For best comedy actor, he’s up against Steve Carell, who took his role as the awkward boss in the NBC remake of The Office. The other nominees are Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock, David Duchovny for Californication and Lee Pace for Pushing Daisies.

In best TV comedy or musical, Extras has been shortlisted alongside 30 Rock, Californication, Entourage and Pushing Daisies.

And the nominees for best comedy actress are Christina Applegate for Samantha Who?, America Ferrera for Ugly Betty, Tina Fey for 30 Rock, Anna Friel for Pushing Daisies and Mary-Louise Parker for Weeds.
