Happy day at The Office

Sitcom's Dawn ties the knot

Stars of British comedy turned out in force yesterday for the wedding of The Office star Lucy Davis.

The actress was given permission to marry Welsh actor Owain Yeoman in St Paul's Cathedral because her father Jasper Carrott is an OBE.

And among the 300 guests transported to the London landmark in red Routemaster double-decker buses a were Office co-stars Mackenzie Crook and Martin Freeman.

The 33-year-old bride, wearing a sleeveless white dress and veil, arrived in a black taxi.

Stephen Merchant, who co-wrote the show with Ricky Gervais, was also there – but not Gervais himself.

Also attending was Simon Pegg, with whom she co-starred in Shaun Of The Dead, Robert Powell, who appeared with Carrot in The Detectives, and The League Of Gentlemen’s Mark Gatiss.

Carrott, 61, said: ‘It was amazing and very, very emotional. Lucy looked stunning – and he’s not bad either.’

Of his father-of-the-bride speech, he said: ‘I’ll rehash something from 1978, there’s nobody here old enough to remember it.’

Ewen Macintosh, who played Keith, added: ‘It's fantastic, I wish her all the best."

Yeoman, 33, is a Welsh-born actor who appeared as Lysander alongside Brad Pitt in the movie Troy.
