Dee's sitcom sets BBC4 record

Jack Dee’s new sitcom has become the most-watched comedy on BBC Four.

Lead Balloon, about the home life of a world-weary stand-up, was seen by 383,000 viewers on its debut on Wednesday night.

The figure may seem modest, but it is a new record for the highbrow digital channel.

Political satire The Thick Of It was the previous top-rated BBC Four comedy, with 319,000 viewers.
