Caught by the Fuzz

Revealed: Cast of Pegg's new movie

Steve Coogan is to appear in Hot Fuzz, Simon Pegg’s follow-up to Shaun Of The Dead.

The full cast for the movie was announced last night, and also includes former James Bond Timothy Dalton, The Office’s Martin Freeman and Edward Woodward

Shooting on the film, which stars Pegg as Nicholas Angel, a brash action-man London cop exiled to a sleepy rural backwater, starts on March 15.

His Shaun Of The Dead co-star Nick Frost will play his bumbling new partner, the laid-back PC Butterman. Not much happens in the village - until residents start turning up dead.

Also in the cast are Jim Broadbent, Billie Whitelaw and Paddy Considine.

Producer Nira Park called Hot Fuzz ‘a very exciting and very British film’, adding: ‘We're looking forward to giving the police action genre the same treatment we gave the living dead in 2004.’

Last year, Pegg said: ‘It’s such a complex script. Shaun kinda wrote itself, but this took some real brainpower. It’s been brilliant fun and a real exercise in comedy and logic.’
