Nighty Night clips on your phone

The BBC is to distribute preview clips of the new series of Nighty Night on mobile phones from tomorrow.

Fans with video-enabled handsets will be able to get advance clips by texting the word Nighty to 81010.

This form of promotion is a first for the corporation, which is undertaking a number of  trials of new technology. It is currently premiering episodes of the BBC Three comedy The Mighty Boosh online a week before transmssion.

Julia Davis’s award-winning Nighty Night, which also stars Angus Deayton, Mark Gatiss and Marc Wooton, returns to BBC Three on September 6.
