Count on Arthur

Character lands R4 series

Count Arthur Strong has landed his own Radio 4 series, to be aired in January.

The show, which goes into pre-production this week, follows a string of star guest appearances on Radio 2's Mark Radcliffe Show.

In each of the five episodes, we hear a confused and muddled 'day in the life' of the Count, the creation of Steve Delaney.

Count Arthur Strong has been a regular visitor to the Edinburgh Fringe since his debut in 1997, although he is absent this year.

He has previously recorded a six-part radio series for BBC London, Down Memory Lane with Count Arthur Strong and also made regular appearance s in  the Radio 4 series The Remains of Foley and McColl.

The show, which will be written by Delaney will be produced by Komedia Entertainment – the production arm of the Brighton arts venue – with Smooth Operations, the producers of Radio 2's Mark Radcliffe Show.

The series – due to air at 11.30am on Fridays – will be recorded this autumn in front of a live audience at Komedia Brighton.
